Injection Quills are special purpose products, Used widely in Petroleum Industry for Treatment, Mixing and Neutralizing of Process Products.
Crystal is the first company in India to have designed and Fabricated theses special Purpose injection quills Reliance Industries Limited for their Jamnagar Export Refinery Project, which normally have been supplied by vendor outside India.
The complete design and engineering of above Project injection quills was approved by Bechtel France.
In general the Scope of work for Injection Quills for Projects executed by crystal consist of:
-
Design of injection quills : Analysis for induced stress and resonant frequency .
-
Design of Weldolet connection for opening made in Process (Header) Pipe.
-
Making of construction Drawings.
-
Complete fabrication including deposition of corrosion Resistant overlays
-
Heat Treatment, non-destructive Testing as per design code, Consultant specifications.
-
Hdrostatic Testing
-
Painting of External surfaces
The Above scope of work, expect for mechanical design, has been executed by Crystal under third Party Inspection Agency
.
Design:
Injection Quills (Inconel, Incoloy 825) are analyzed by Finite Element Analysis by any implied Stress of Resonant Frequency. A typical deisgn analysis consists of checking above criteria for various conditions:

WET SCRUBBER SYSTEM
TYPE ECS EJECTOR-VENTURY, WITH WET PACKED TOWER EJECTOR-DRIVEN EMERGENCY GAS SCRUBBER

Wet Scrubbing system offered by Crystal are either Ejector Ventury Scrubbers
or packed towers or combination of Ejector Ventury Scrubbers with Packed
Towers.
The Ejector Venturi Scrubber provides both the functions of scrubbing and creates system draft. Ejector Venturi Scrubber utilize the energy of the scrubbing liquid to effectively entrain & remove noxious gases, particulates, odours, fumes and dusts from the gas. Gaseouspollutants and odours are removed through absorption & or chemical reaction between the gases & scrubbing liquid. In addition to providing effective scrubbing Ejector Venturi Scrubber also produces an air moving and/or static pressure boosting capability for thesystem.
Packed Tower Scrubber is a low energy, contact bed type of wet scrubber for gas absorption, for gas cooling and for stripping of the contaminants from process liquids.
The units are specifically engineered to give highest efficiency with the lowest power consumption without sacrificing the performance reliability. Severn Trent packed Tower Scrubbers are available in standard designs from 6" to 144" diameter & with capacities upto 50,000 ACFM.
High Energy Ventury Scrubber High Energy Ventury Scrubbers are designed for the removal of sub-micron fumes, mists & particulates. The gas is accelerated into the throat of theventuri where high velocity gas stream shatters the scrubbing liquid into fine droplets which mix with and impinge on the fine fumes, mists and particulates to effect the required removal efficiency. The High Energy Ventury Scrubbers can have either a fixed throat type or with a annular fixed throat type or variable throat type to vary the capacity of the scrubber.
The scrubbers are vertical flow, wet approach type where the scrubbing liquid is introduced at the top of
the converging section of the venturi. The wet approach feature allows the scrubber to be used in
hygroscopic or highly abrasive applications. These units are capable of scrubbing with recirculated
slurries having a solids content as high as 30%
The throat area of the venturi can be selected to operated at pressure drops between 6" and 120" w.g.
TYPE 970
The Type 970 Scrubber is a fixed throat venturi available in smaller size for the lower end of the
capacity range.
TYPE 974
The Type 974 Scrubber is an annular fixed throat venturi in which the throat is formed by the annular
area between the outer body and a center body (plug). Scrubbing liquid is introduced at the center body as well as at the top of the converging section.
TYPE 975
The Type 975 Scrubber is the variable throat version of the Type 974 Annular Venturi Scrubber. The area of the annular venturi throat is varied by the vertical movement of the tapered center body (plug) in a conical throat body. The liquid may be introduced through the center pipe or by a top radial liquid inlet and the external wall tangential liquid inlets.
The scrubbers are vertical flow, wet approach type where the scrubbing liquid is introduced at the top
of the converging section of the venturi. The wet approach feature allows the scrubber to be used
in hygroscopic or highly abrasive applications. These units are capable of scrubbing with recirculated
slurries having a solids content as high as 30%.
The throat area of the venturi can be selected to operate at pressure drops between 6" & 120" w.g.
